Landmark 43 Team Premier Wins Dubai-Muscat Race

 

 

Team Premier a Landmark 43 helmed by promoter Claus Landmark and owner Dag Skarsgard with a Norwegian crew has won the 2009 Dubai-Muscat Offshore Race.  The 350 mile race from Dubai through the straits of Hormuz to Muscat in Oman is a major fixture in the growing Gulf sailing season, featuring as the Norwegians reported “ night sailing under a wondrous carpet of stars dressed just in shorts and t-shirts” .  They attributed their success in a video interview with Louay Habib at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvFpdzAzWiw to consistent sailing, allowing them to finish not far behind the IRC’ed TP52 Team Premier on the water for a solid win on corrected time.  

 

 

We understand the recent ISAF Annual Meetings in Busan passed a change to lifeline materials to allow High Modulus UHMW-PE fibres such as Dyneema.  Anyone replacing lifelines this winter or interested in a change to the new materials should be able to find out more when details are posted at www.isaf.org in early December, or can contact us for more information.
